Background info:
(VK is allergic to mosquito bites. He starts scratching it and on repeatedly doing so, the bite gets infected and one after a dose of antibiotics, life gets back to normal.)
Last week the same thing happened and this time it was on the knee... Even after all our preventive measures, his knee was swollen and he was limping and finding hard to walk. I had to rush to the doctor and I was really sad making him walk even in that state but didn’t mention anything to him.
After the visit to doctor and pharmacist, when I put him in the car, he asked me or rather told me below.
In a totally matter of fact tone (with no emotion at all)
“Amma after the baby comes out of your tummy, you will carry me like before”
My heart broke a million times that moment and my eyes well up every time I think about it.
I still wonder if he actually read my mind because I was feeling totally guilty not able to carry him or if he was in pain and just saying it.
Whatever it was... I am carrying the guilt now and can’t wait to carry my first baby like before!
