Happy Father's Day

This is the first time that Hubby got a present for father’s day (See pic) .We are not too much into such occasions and we dint even notice it last year.
Few weeks ago, Vk’s Daycare had notices everywhere about their father’s day celebration on Fri 4th Dec and all Dads were welcome for afternoon tea at 2 pm (weird time Huh!). I read the notice and was quite excited. I so much wanted Hubby to attend it. We discussed about it and made necessary arrangements, so that Hubby could go for it.
Between then and now, Vk fell sick and we have had to take couple of days off here and there.Which means Hubby can’t make it this afternoon for the celebration. It breaks my heart to think how Vk would feel to see other kids with their Dads but not to find his father. He probably can’t express it and may not be vocal about it... but I am sure, he would feel disappointed and upset. This scenario has been running in my mind over and over again for last few days and as a mom, I feel totally helpless. Practically thinking about it, there probably is going to be heaps more of such occasions… but it’s his first today and unfortunately we can’t make it and that really saddens me. Sigh!
Wish someone had warned me about all these emotional stuff when preparing for new arrival.

Anyways, wishing all Dads a very Happy Father’s day and my special wishes to my Appa for being the best and to Hubby who is the best according to VK.

awww :)
a very happy father's day to the little angel and your husband.
It's happened a few times with me - nino's dad couldn't show up at a few crucial events - and I thought Nino would be shattered, but would you believe it, he did not even notice. I told him the day before and he sulked a bit, and then he was okay. I guess kids don't use the 'compare' yardstick yet, VJ, so don't worry, no trauma here.

May be you can give him a heads up the prev day saying that dad cant come but instead we'll all go out in the evening for an ice cream or something.. I think it dad will be more upset than Vk :)

Cute card btw. Is it his handprints?

Awww...hugs to you first!
Dont worry,Vk will be fine in no time...I know he would have missed his dad when he celebrated the day with other kids but for the simple fact that he is still small and sees so many things around him, that one moment will pass on quickly.
So chill,re!

On that note,a very happy father's day to your husband, Appa & all the fathers :)

and lots of tight hugs and kisses to Vk kutty :)

@NM: Thank you !! very true about the compare yardstick..

@PrintLover: He is too small I guess to talk to him about it and too young for bribes.. but thanks for the idea.. will use it in the later stage.
yah..its was his handprint.. i loved it too.

@Deeps: Thank you.. I think the day went quite unnoticed .. he didnt look any different when I went to pick him up.
