Baking Story : Part I

When we moved to our not so new house, the oven left behind by previous owners didn't work.I have been pestering Hubby to get me new oven from then on.(I should let you know here that we had oven in all previous houses and I have never ever touched them.)

It was then decided if we are getting new oven, it has to be stainless steel. If buying new oven, might as well change the cook top and range hood as well.Just the oven in silver colour and cook top in black would horrible was the next argument.Hence after lots of discussion, it was decided to change everything to stainless steel.
When was the next question.
Obviously not immediately as we couldn’t afford it.Finally got around to it and bought them about 2 weeks back and got them installed yesterday.

Now the spotlight has shifted to me.My argument always was, if I had an oven, I’d make cakes, muffin, cookies and what not.(Which I didn’t bother about in all these years).
So Ladies and Gentleman !!! (I know of only one man who reads my blog.)
I have to perform now. I have to start baking and prove to myself that I didn’t buy it for the sake of it. By blogging about it, I have no escape.
Please forward all baking recipes to me. All those yummy websites!! Thinking about it, I think even getting the recipes are easy... It’s all about putting it in action. Send in all the motivation and positive attitude in my direction.
Only then can I buy my next kitchen gadget.(I do need something as an inspiration to work on...)

P.S: have just started collecting details about recipes and making list of what needs to be bought to bake over the weekend. Will update next week about my baking adventure.

Can't wait to read about your adventures. I'm pretty much the same - won't bake till I get my hands on a new oven - so I'm keen to see your stainless steel wonders. Also, you must, must, must bake bread. Nothing smells better than freshly made bread at home.

Umm, I am going to pass on the advice that Wordjunkie gave me and which worked... start with the cake mixes first. All you have to do is beat the eggs and butter and mix it all together... once you figure out the exact oven setting and time it takes - experiment with the from scratch variety.
And the mixes taste good... and getting the right is a confidence booster.
